Litigation

The Litigation Services Group, which includes three lawyers, provides aggressive representation to the Firm's regular clients, and special litigation services for clients referred to the Firm. We litigate in Oregon and California in federal and state courts and before numerous administrative and regulatory agencies.

Our members regularly handle complex cases involving commercial transactions, contract disputes, environmental law, products liability, real estate and construction disputes, labor and employment issues, personal injury, medical malpractice, dissolution of marriage, as well as many other areas requiring specialized skill and expertise. In each representation undertaken by members of the Group, we strive to first understand a client's particular concerns and objectives, believing that such an understanding is essential to representing a client effectively. From a referee's hearing on unemployment compensation claims to full blown proceedings before administrative law judges, our attorneys are experienced in representing clients under the procedural rules of each administrative agency.

When our clients go to court in employment cases, whether defending against discrimination or other complaints, but sometimes seeking an injunction against former employees violating non-competition or confidentiality agreements, they are represented by experienced trial attorneys from our Litigation Services Group. Members of our department are admitted to practice before various federal and state courts and know the procedural and practical differences among the courts in which they practice. We also represent our clients in appellate proceedings, all the way to the United States Supreme Court, if necessary.
