Chris was raised in Southern California and pursued his education at the University of California, Santa Barbara; the University of California, San Diego; and the University of California’s Hastings College of Law in San Francisco. After practicing for five years in the Santa Monica and Palm Springs offices of a prominent California law firm, Chris joined our firm in 1992. He and his wife, Susan, a fourth-generation Oregonian, relocated to Ashland to establish their roots in Southern Oregon, where they raised three children.
Outside the office, Chris is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys trail running, skiing, and whitewater rafting. His commitment to community is reflected in his extensive service on numerous local and statewide nonprofit boards, including as Chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Real Estate & Land Use Section, Ashland City Council, and Ashland Planning Commission. Chris has also served on the boards of Oregon Environmental Council, and Southern Oregon Head Start; and currently serves and an officer on the boards of Bear Creek Greenway Foundation and Ashland Family YMCA.
Chris focuses his practice on business and real estate litigation, land use, construction litigation, trust disputes, administrative hearings, and condominium and planned community law. Chris has published materials and presented at numerous statewide seminars for the Oregon State Bar’s Real Estate & Land Use section on a variety of land use topics; and for Professional Education Seminars, Inc. on topics related to easements, boundaries, and landowner disputes.
With decades of experience, Chris is dedicated to providing practical, strategic, and results-driven legal counsel to his clients.
